How to shorten your timeline for innovation ideas

For forty-five years people used pickaxes or chisels to open cans. The metal can was invented in 1813; the first can opener appeared in 1858.

You don’t have to wait that long for creative inspiration.

Ask yourself and/or your colleagues and/or customers: What’s your can? What extra effort are you making now that could possibly be simplified, made easier? Wouldn’t it be nice if …. what? And then, find a way to make it happen.
