Are we less innovative now than 100 years ago?

Are we less innovative and imaginative than a hundred years ago? Or is amazing innovation just now so commonplace its become routine?  If innovation is becoming routine, then what might the innovation on innovation be?

Do you remember what we called innovation before we used the word innovation?  Was there such a thing?

What about imaginative?  Do you think there’s a difference between how imaginative we are now compared to how imaginative people were 100 years ago?
