Creativity: One Step In. Personal prep for World Creativity and Innovation Week
Rather than overwhelm yourself wondering how to celebrate World Creativity and Innovation Week April 15 – 21 here are some simple personal starting points for using new ideas and making new decisions that will influence your future.
As a WCIW gift, each day until April 21 will present another stage along a creativity path to free you to consider new options to make your place in the world better, and make the world better too.
Every other day you’ll be presented with questions to consider for which to generate many answers, to encourage the power of your creative imagination to roam free. After each question day you’ll be lead to making new decisions that will contribute to you constructing a new container for your future path. Yes, you’ll be led through using the creativity two-step process, bit by bit.
Mindset going in…
Going in, consider the following questions; coming out, be confident you can create new containers for your answers, that you can create new solutions by creating a brand new path or following a slightly different one than what you are accustomed to. The key in realizing your creativity is being open to using new ideas. Ready?
Step I
Choose one of the options below to create a personal new future. Generate many many answers to the question you choose, maybe 30. Then let it rest. Tomorrow we’ll take your creativity to Step II, then we’ll follow with Steps III, IV, V and so on to help you create a new path that will lead you towards your heart’s desire.
Creativity Starting Points
- If you could plant a seed that could grow anything, what would it be and where would you plant it?
- What makes you feel happy without any effort on your part?
- What would you do if you had all the time in the world?
- Imagine that an alternate route suddenly appears in your life (past or present). Where would it take you? Where would you like it to take you?
- If your home was on fire and you could only take one object with you, what would it be?
- Break big issues (problems or aspirations) into small pieces and move them around like a puzzle. If you could be an expert at anything, what would it be?
- Take the other side in any argument or debate. What if you believed in a religion, philosophy or political point of view opposite your own?
- What attribute (brains, beauty, athleticism, practicality, etc.) does someone else have that you want? What would you give in exchange for it?
- If you could travel anywhere in this reality or in any other dimension, where would it be?
- What would your life be like if you made all the rules? Where would those rules be: work, home, government, etc? Where would you make the most progress by being more disciplined?
- What is your vision of the perfect friend or colleague? Where do you want more cooperation in your life? If you could change an organization or group, what would it be and what should be changed?
- Who is the hardest person for you to forgive? What is the one thing you’d like to be forgiven for?
I’m choosing one to work on as a personal World Creativity and Innovation Week project for 2011. You?
